Aziz Ansari Explains Why He's a Feminist

Stand-up phenom and Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari explained his views on feminism to David Letterman Monday night.

After asking the audience how many of them were feminists and receiving a relatively tepid response, Ansari explained the cultural stereotypes that often surround feminism and broke down the word to its dictionary-defined meaning

"If you believe that men and women have equal rights, if someone asks if you're a feminist, you have to say yes," Ansari said. "Because that is how words work."

Ansari, who is the latest celebrity among actors like Joseph Gordon Levitt to speak out on women's issues, wrapped things up using a few humorous analogies involving Jay Z and Beyoncé in concert. Read more...
