HONG KONG — As the crowd searched for direction, the two groups behind Hong Kong's massive pro-democracy demonstrations — Occupy Central and Scholarism — spoke up on Wednesday afternoon.
Reiterating previous demands, both groups requested the immediate resignation of Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying
The student leaders behind Scholarism took things one step further, warning if their demands were not met, they would step up their actions on Thursday and begin occupying several important government buildings
The high-pressure tactic on the government comes after four official days of protesting with only silence from CY Leung. The streets of Central, Admiralty, Causeway and Mong Kok have been taken over by tens of thousands of people protesting silently for a change to the 2017 election procedure.
