The family of Peter Kassig, an American aid worker being held captive by the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria, has released portions of a letter written by the 26-year-old.
In the letter sent to Ed and Paula Kassig, their son describes his fear of death, his faith and commitment to prayer, and his love for his family
Kassig told his parents that if he did die while in captivity, they could seek solace in the fact that he was killed while "trying to alleviate suffering and helping those in need." In 2012, Kassig founded SERA (Special Emergency Response and Assistance) a medical aid organization which provided aid in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey. Read more...
