Derek Jeter, the former shortstop and surefire Hall of Fame inductee, spent years as the face of not only the New York Yankees, but also much of baseball. Despite one of the highest profiles in baseball, Jeter admits that he was never quite comfortable talking to the press.
Enter The Players' Tribune, a media website from the former captain that will attempt to sidestep the existing sports media industry and connect athletes with fans
"I realize I’ve been guarded. I learned early on in New York, the toughest media environment in sports, that just because a reporter asks you a question doesn’t mean you have to answer."
