Beckerman was notably absent from Jurgen Klinsmann's starting 11 (possibly because of the yellow card he drew in their Germany match on Thursday) — Team USA's coach preferring a new 3-3-4 lineup with Alejandro Bedoya and Graham Zusi playing up top to help Clint Dempsey.
