Toshiba on Wednesday announced the Encore Mini, a 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet. Designed in conjunction with Microsoft, the Encore Mini is unique in that it comes in at just $119.99.

You read that correctly. The Encore Mini is the full Windows 8.1 experience in a tablet with a 7-inch screen, and it costs just $120. Once it's on store shelves, you might even be able to find it for lower.

Powered by an Intel Atom processor, the Encore Mini isn't the most advanced machine. It has a 1,024 x 600 display — so this isn't even full HD — but it does have 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. Read more...
