The first step is to decide how you want the app to be designed to take advantage of the larger screen size. Apple's given us a few good examples of this with its built-in apps for iOS 8, which show the user more content.
It will also be important to consider how the user is going to hold the larger phone, since controls on the top of the screen won't be as reachable
