Self-taught photographer and retoucher Erik Johansson explains on his website that "he doesn't capture moments, he captures ideas." And well, some of his ideas are pretty weird. The Berlin-based artist photographs different subjects, and then with the magic of Photoshop, compiles them into creative, often otherworldly scenarios and situations.
One photo may consist of hundreds of different images that Johansson seamlessly stitched together into one cohesive unit
After sketching out and planning an idea, Johansson collects his material, without the use of stock photography (he wants to feel as if he's created everything himself). Then he puts all of the photos together, a process that can range in time required from a few days to several weeks. "This part is like a puzzle," Johansson writes on his website.
