Uber's much-criticized surge pricing is about to get a little better.
New York's attorney general announced Tuesday that Uber has agreed to put a cap on prices during “abnormal disruptions of the market,” meaning natural disasters and emergencies to comply with the state's price gouging regulations.
“It provides consumers with critical protections to which they are entitled under the law," Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said in a statement. "And it provides Uber with clarity from government about how the law will be applied to its innovative pricing model." Read more...
