Apple will mark World AIDS Day this year by donating a portion of its retail and online sales from between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1 to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS
World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 unites people worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS, expressing support for those living with the virus and remembering those who have died from it
Apple announced the donation plans on Monday. It has also launched a special section of its App Store, called Apps for (RED), which offers 25 new apps
Proceeds from the sales of those apps will go entirely to the Global Fund. Many of them are games, including a special version of Angry Birds, in which players get access to (RED)’s Mighty Feathers and a bonus egg level; Bubble Witch 2 Saga with new PRODUCT(RED) levels and Clash of Clans with special edition PRODUCT(RED) levels, among others.
