When Google released the Chromecast back in 2013, the idea of a low-cost HDMI dongle that could offer access to streaming content from various web services, as well as the Chrome browser on desktops and mobile devices, was really, really compelling.
Part of what makes Chromecast great is its price. At $35, the device is a super-easy way to get your fix of Netflix or YouTube to your TV. As a result, the Chromecast has managed to be a rare win for Google in the living room.
