The Taliban have released a video that reportedly shows the handover of U.S. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl to the U.S. Special Forces
Bergdahl has spent five years in captivity after being captured by Afghan militants. He was released in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, June 1, in a high-stakes exchange for five militants held at Guantanamo Bay.
The video, which cannot be independently verified, shows a visibly nervous Bergdahl sitting in a vehicle that is being guarded by masked, armed men. He is then shown outside of the vehicle as a U.S. helicopter lands in the dusty mountainside. Unarmed American soldiers jump out, pat Bergdahl and lead him to the helicopter. Read more...
