Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are in full shill mode in this new promo for the return of their HBO docu-series Project Greenlight — and, as you may have predicted, they're also incredibly fun to watch.
The show, meant to chronicle the experience of novice filmmakers as they make their first feature film, originally ran on HBO for two seasons in 2001 and 2003 and then ran for one year on Bravo in 2005.
"Clearly we haven't had any new ideas in the intervening 13 years," jokes Affleck in the promo. "Not a fresh idea," Damon adds.
Short film submissions will be used to determine the winner of a digital contest, and the director of the winning project will go on to be the subject of the series, which will follow them through the filmmaking process. Veteran producers and directors will also step in at times to mentor the director throughout the process, so that the novice doesn't "have to just rely on us," deadpans Affleck. Read more...
