CLAYTON, Missouri — An arrest has been made in last week's shooting outside the Ferguson Police Department that left two officers injured, and shined the national spotlight back on the embattled city.
During a press conference Sunday afternoon, St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said Jeffrey Williams, a 20-year-old black man from the north St. Louis County area, was taken into custody Saturday night, and charged with two counts of first degree assault.
McCulloch said Williams is believed to have fired shots from a red vehicle on Tiffin Avenue, across from the Ferguson Police Department. Williams, who previously participated in local protests against police brutality, is currently being held on $300,000 bail. The investigation is still ongoing. Read more...
