Just because he's smiling doesn't mean he's not sexist

A sexist man is supposed to be easily identified. He is dismissive of female coworkers, makes crude comments about women and openly criticizes the gains of feminism.

Yet, a new study shows that sexist behavior can actually appear cordial and appealing when women and men interact with each other. This so-called "benevolent sexism" was predictive of charming conduct like patience, friendliness and smiling

"Benevolent sexism is this belief about how women are pure and wonderful but at the same time, they are weak and very incompetent," says Jin X.
