Pro-independence bars are popping up across Scotland for the election

LONDON — Pro-independence Scots who want to meet other pro-independence Scots will soon have a lot more places to drink.


The owners of a bar in Glasgow, who were so keen on Scottish independence during the referendum last year that they renamed their establishment Yesbar, said they're opening a number of pop-up pubs ahead of the May 7 general election in the UK.



Owner Jim McLaughlin told STV Glasgow that he is reaching out to bars across Scotland who would adopt the Yesbar name and turn their pubs political for the month leading up to voting day, with the goal of getting as many pro-independence politicians elected as possible. Read more...
