Hair can be a great form of self expression, but so can shaving your head and drawing a map of your cortex on it
MIT neuroscientist Nancy Kanwisher took a clever approach to teaching neuroanatomy by doing just that. Not only did she teach her students how to shave a head (cut off the majority of the hair, follow up with a buzzer and finish it off with shaving cream and a razor), but she also showed them where to find brain activity on an actual living person.
