Man who recorded Walter Scott shooting wants $10K from media outlets for the video

A bystander who recorded video of the shooting death of Walter Scott by a police officer during a traffic stop in South Carolina is demanding payment from media companies for use of the clip.

The footage, which shows Scott being shot eight times in the back by North Charleston police officer Michael Slager on April 4, changed public perception of his death, and launched a case against the officer. Now the man who recorded the video is looking for $10,000 each from media companies that broadcast the footage.
