Expect the usually awful Thanksgiving travel season to be even worse this year

Flying this Thanksgiving? You won't be alone.


Airports are expected to be even more crowded this year than last, and airlines are anticipating that they will carry about 24.6 million passengers between Nov. 21 and Dec. 2, according to trade group Airlines for America.



The only potential good news is that last year, Airlines for America — which represents the biggest carriers in the U.S. — forecasted a higher number of people traveling than actually did (it blamed the outcome on poor weather).
