As Scotland prepares to vote on whether it will split from the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II is facing mounting pressure to take a public stance on the issue.
Scottish citizens will vote in a referendum on independence Sept. 18. If the majority votes "yes," Scotland will separate from the UK in two years. The most recent poll showed the vote is still too close to call, with 39% of Scottish voters saying they would vote "no" and 38% saying they would vote "yes." The remaining voters are still undecided.
