SYDNEY — Someone likes their guacamole a little too much.
A thief (or thieves) in South Australia has stolen thousands of avocados from a property near Barmera. We can only assume that there is a wild Mexican fiesta going down somewhere south of the border.
More than 20 trees had their fruit stripped, with the thief or thieves making off with approximately 1,500 kilograms of avocados, according to police. The crime happened between Sunday, Aug. 24 and Thursday, Sept. 4.
With avocados selling for $3 to $4 a piece in Australia, the value of the heist is clear. Read more...
