People often dream of leaving the hustle and bustle of the city, but few actually do it, especially as a permanent lifestyle change.
In his series entitled "Scrublands", photographer Antoine Bruy focuses on people across Europe who have abandoned their busy city lives for a self-sufficient lifestyle in remote, rural areas, often without electricity or running water.
In 2006, Bruy, then 19, was taken in by a family of farmers while hitchhiking in the French countryside. Bruy spent two weeks taking pictures, listening to the family's stories and helping them do work, as he discovered "how living in the countryside could be."
