Maybe some teams don't need a mascot.
College sports are great on their own. The games are electric, the crowds are loud and it's the first place to spot potential future superstars in their rawest form. That being said, nothing ruins a good NCAA game like a terrible school mascot
Something about a floppy costume with huge, dead eyes running across the basketball court and trying to mingle with the crowd while armed with a T-shirt cannon makes it impossible to get into the game. If I'm at a college game, I want to cheer for my team, not try and figure out what a Banana Slug has to do with basketball (I'm looking at you, UC Santa Cruz). Read more...
