Sony's PlayStation Network has been restored after a three-day outage caused by an external attack
A group self-identified as Lizard Squad took credit for a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on Christmas Day that overwhelmed Sony's network, which allows PlayStation users to compete against each other online. Xbox was also targeted in the attack, although its system did not go down entirely, and was quickly restored.
Sony's issues persisted for multiple days, leaving players — some of whom had just received PlayStations — unable to connect to its network. Read more...
