Billboard's albums chart shakeup to include streaming music for rankings

Billboard will soon begin to use Nielsen SoundScan's streaming data and download numbers of individual tracks to rank the top albums on its long-standing Billboard 200 chart.

The changes, an attempt to keep the albums chart relevant and to give a more accurate reflection of the overall landscape of music listeners, will be reflected on the Billboard 200 chart released online on Dec. 4 and in Billboard's print edition on Dec. 13.
