Airports are testing a scanner to let your water bottle through security

Throwing away a new bottle of water is a common sight at airport security, but a scanner that can tell the difference between a latte and a liquid explosive could put an end to that.

The Insight100 Liquid Explosive Detection System has been considered a potential solution to screening liquids at airports for several years, but has now moved a step closer to implementation: The scanner is being tested at 65 airports in Europe.
