While much of the population will be lazing around at home eating turkey this Thursday as businesses across the country are shuttered for Thanksgiving, others will be spending the day at work.
Mashable sent photojournalist Natalie Keyssar to talk to some of the shopkeepers, bartenders, cab drivers, waiters, police officers and others who will spend Thanksgiving on the job and see how they cope with working through the holiday.
And for the most part, they don't seem to mind it too much. Some say they could use the overtime pay, others acknowledge that working holidays is par for the course when running your own business and most manage to squeeze in time for family or friends around their shifts.
