Will Google Maps Ever Come to Apple CarPlay?

Apple's CarPlay infotainment system will include support for four third-party apps — Beats Music, iHeartRadio, Spotify and Stitcher — at launch, which is "sometime in 2014." That's in addition to Apple's Music, Messaging, Podcasts and Maps apps.

Maps are a no-brainer for in-car apps. Still, while Apple Maps has improved considerably since its not-ready-for-primetime launch in 2012, the announcement of CarPlay begs the question whether Google Maps will ever arrive on the platform (even if Apple Maps is more popular with iPhone users).
