F8-hero

Even if you can't attend Facebook's F8 Developer Conference in person, you can still tune in online.

This is the first time Facebook has held an F8 conference since 2011. A lot has changed since then — for both Facebook and Facebook developers.

Facebook will live stream the F8 conference — including the keynote — beginning at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT. To tune in, just visit f8.facebooklive.com. You can also read Mashable's live analysis of Mark Zuckerberg's F8 keynote, and our coverage from various sessions throughout the day.

After the keynote, you can stay on Facebook's live stream to enjoy the various sessions. The full F8 schedule is available online. Read more...

Angry-worker

When you think about the right way to handle getting riled up at work, you probably think of anger management. After all, the best way to remain professional is to stay cool, calm, and collected — right?

Turns out, though, anger in the office might help you out more than you think (if you know how to channel it right). A recent article by Jeff Haden of Inc. reports that some of the world’s most successful leaders — think the Steve Jobs’ and Jeff Bezos’ of the world — regularly express all manner of emotions, including anger. The difference between them and your co-worker who throws an adult tempter tantrum every time things don’t go his or her way? They know how to stay in control of their anger and harness it for its benefits (extra focus and a boost of adrenaline-driven confidence) rather than make a fool of themselves. Read more...

Hamsterburrito

It takes a great man to create a tiny burrito.

"Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos," which seems to be the first episode of YouTube comedy channel HelloDenizen's ongoing series of tiny hamster videos, is a delicious concoction of passion and opulence, wrapped in a tortilla of cuteness

The chef of the tiny burrito painstakingly prepares the dish for his hamster patron, who devours his minuscule meal by stuffing it into his cheeks. The whole production is a real nail-biter, as our culinary hero nervously awaits the verdict on his teensy supper Read more...

Philtippett_meme

Internet revelry has given us many joys, from LOL Cats to the Harlem Shake. Not everyone gets these in-jokes, however. In fact, it makes some of those intimately involved a little gruff.

While shooting a recent episode of the Dailymotion/Mashable series That Was Me, we asked legendary visual effects creator Phil Tippett what he thinks of the enduring meme "ONE JOB, PHIL" — inspired by his “Dinosaur Supervisor” credit on Jurassic Park. While Tippett seems none too happy, our Mashable staff and meme manager Ben Lashes express a debt of gratitude for Phil's inadvertent Internet legacy. Read more...

Sept-11-memorial-registries

Survivors and witnesses of the Sept. 11 attacks and the World Trade Center bombing of 1993 now have a digital venue to share their stories, thanks to a new initiative the National September 11 Memorial and Museum launched on Wednesday.

The 9/11 Memorial Registries collect and share the personal experiences of survivors and rescue workers, as well as information about existing Sept. 11 memorials around the world. The interactive site, which technology and design company Infusion engineered and Microsoft sponsored, also invites the public to share firsthand testimonials from the attacks.

Tornado2

The severe weather system already responsible for dozens of deaths hit the southeastern U.S. on Wednesday. NBC reports Georgia, Alabama, Florida and North Carolina were all under tornado watches on Wednesday morning.

At least two counties in North Carolina issued tornado warnings, indicating there were funnel clouds and possible tornadoes on the ground.

At time of writing there were still tornado watches in effect for portions of the Florida Panhandle, a region hit especially hard by the storm system. Pensacola has seen heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, leading to "life-threatening" flash flood warnings. The flooding has stranded cars and rendered roads impassable, and is blamed for at least one death Read more...
