TORONTO — The person responsible for Toronto's much-discussed mystery tunnel has finally come forward.
His name is Elton McDonald, and he's a 22-year-old construction worker who describes himself as the "main digger" behind an elaborate 34-foot-long chamber that set the city abuzz and puzzled police last week
"I just want people to know that I meant no harm at all," McDonald told The Toronto Sun in an interview on Thursday. "It was a secret for sure, but it was not built for nefarious reasons."
He confirmed police findings that the tunnel was built to be a personal "man cave," which included various items, such as a rosary and Remembrance Day poppy "for protection ... good luck, a prayer." Read more...
