Here's what's happening in Al Roker's neck of the woods: He's aiming to break the Guinness World Record for longest weather report.
Dubbed the #Rokerthon, America's favorite weather man is attempting to report on sunshine, raindrops and windchill for 34 hours straight. Roker began his attempt Wednesday at 10:05 P.M. E.T. and intends to continue to some time after 8 A.M. E.T. Friday. The stunt coincides with Thursday's Guinness World Records Day 2014, and the entire report is available to watch via live stream.
Roker is attempting to break Norweigan weather broadcaster Eli Kari Gjengdal's 33-hour broadcast, which she completed in September. A spokesperson from Guinness tells Mashable that Gjengdal has yet to submit evidence of her record, and as a result, is not yet listed as holding a record Read more...
