The trove of state papers released Tuesday are packed full of insights into Thatcher-era Britain, shedding light on everything from the controversial poll tax to plans for ads on the BBC


Released by the National Archives in Kew under the 30-year rule, the documents look at some of the key happenings and decisions taken in Downing Street between 1985 and 1986
